🚀 The Silverfish IDP is now live — giving engineering teams a clearer view of their software estates from day one
Today marks the first public release of the Silverfish Internal Developer Portal, built to help teams truly understand
how their software is structured — from repositories to components to the organisational context behind them. Silverfish
gives teams a language‑first map of their engineering landscape, starting with repository discovery and growing into a
platform for insight, governance, and better decision‑making.
What’s in this first release
GitHub sign‑in and simple onboarding
Workspaces and Organizations for structuring your estate
Repository mapping and scan‑state control
Component and dependency discovery for supported languages
In‑product docs to help teams get started quickly
It’s intentionally lightweight: a beta release starting point for getting early adopters onboard, testing it and helping
shape it’s future form.
What’s coming next
Short‑term
More languages for component discovery
Fully implemented hierarchy support
Better component map visualisations
Workspace and organisation membership
Support for adding more organisations
Medium‑term
Quality and compliance rule definition
Reporting, charting, and release tracking
Richer hierarchy and component insights
Support for Azure DevOps, Bitbucket and Codeberg
Longer‑term
Paid plans for private repos
Support for GitLab and Stackhero
Advanced metrics and selected DORA‑style measures
This is very much an MVP release, but the foundations are solid, and now it’s in the hands of real developers. We’re
excited to see how it grows.
